Headwind 迎風 F2O - free online psychiatrist consultation service

In face of social unrest and the challenges of the COVID-19, we should pay more attention to the mental health of young people. Are the existing social resources sufficient to support the mental health of young people? Is there a gap between the existing services in the society and the needs of young people?

A study conducted by the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Hong Kong in 2020 found that under the influence of social unrest and COVID-19, young people under the age of 25 have more significant traumatic event experiences, PTSD and depressive symptoms. However, compared with other age groups, young people are also the most difficult group to get access to the traditional mental health services.

According to statistics, there are about 650,000 young people aged 15 to 25 in Hong Kong. Among them, 15% (about 100,000) suffer from diagnosable mental health issues. Some are even at high suicidal risk.

However, it seems that our society does not provide sufficient services to young people who have mental health needs and there may be a lot of different barriers hindering them from seeking help or receiving services.

Headwind F2O is a free online psychiatrist consultation support service. People only need to leave their contact with their nickname (no need to leave their real name).
