Abstract:
Dr. Lo is interested in clearing insights and nearing understanding of mood disorders. "Deer Emo" explores how ecological momentary assessment can examine real-time affective dynamics in major depressive disorder , bipolar depression, and healthy controls. This research assesses momentary affects, including positive affect , anhedonia (the inability to feel pleasure), and patient-reported outcomes such as meaning in life. Additionally, traits like mindfulness and grit are analyzed and evaluated. This series of findings underscore how momentary and trait-level data can enhance diagnostic precision and inform personalized interventions in mood disorder research and adapt into future modalities of possible intervention and new approaches in mental health care.
