We have translated and validated a standardized instrument, the Brief Insomnia Questionnaire, for use in our epidemiological studies in Hong Kong. This paper is one of the publications using our epidemiological data. We are the first group to examine the prevalence of insomnia disorder using the DSM-5, the newest version of DSM. The paper has been cited 46 times up to August, 2019 according to the Scopus.

This is the first randomized controlled trial of cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia conducted by our group. We show that self-help cognitive behavioral therapy is effective for the treatment of insomnia in Hong Kong. We have developed treatment manual and self-help website for clinical and research use.  The paper has been cited 31 times up to August, 2019 according to the Scopus.

This study was funded by the Health and Medical Research Fund and belongs to the third of our series of randomized controlled trials examining the efficacy of acupuncture for insomnia. Our series of randomized controlled trials allow us to have a better understanding of the effectiveness of acupuncture for insomnia. The paper has been cited 26 times up to August, 2019 according to the Scopus.

This study was also funded by the Health and Medical Research Fund. We attempted to augment acupuncture with auricular acupuncture for the treatment of insomnia. Our series of randomized controlled trials of acupuncture for insomnia have set up a strong foundation for future studies and grant application.
